MMFN was delighted to be part of another memorable Muay Thai Grand Prix event in Sheffield on 3 October. With an impressive 43 bouts on the card, the event brought together fighters at every stage of their journey — from novice and amateur competitors gaining vital ring experience to semi-professional and professional athletes.
It was a packed night of action, with a great crowd, a busy venue and plenty of familiar faces from across the combat-sports community. MTGP has become a regular fixture on the calendar, and it is easy to understand why so many fighters, teams and supporters keep returning.
For MMFN, one of the highlights was being in the corner for our friend Nick Cartledge as he faced Andi Noka. Mirek Marcinski was joined by Konrad Nowicki in Nick’s corner, while the entire fight was filmed from ringside.
Nick was unfortunate to lose the contest, but it was an entertaining and competitive fight from start to finish. In our view, he edged the opening round before the following two rounds went in Andi’s favour. Both fighters kept looking for opportunities, tested each other throughout and gave the crowd a bout well worth watching.
The card was full of quality match-ups. Neil Huntley’s Revolution Gym was represented by Will Bingham, who faced Levi Thompson, and Taylor Spencer, who took on Brandon Wood. We were also pleased to see Louie Garbett in action against Callum Pembroke.
Away from the ring, events like this are always a reminder of how connected the combat-sports world is. We had the chance to catch up with friends from MSA Leeds Husarmia, as well as coach Rafał, Patryk and Kamil Fornalski.
It was also great to see Paul “Semtex” Daley, the owner of Spirit Dojo, whose team had a fighter competing on the night. We also met Mohamed Farhadimus Ali from AFK Gym in Sheffield,
There were far too many fighters, trainers, officials and supporters to mention individually. But that is part of what makes an event like this special. When you have spent time around the sport, a night at MTGP becomes more than simply a fight card — it is an opportunity to support friends, reconnect with familiar faces and watch the next generation gain valuable experience.
Congratulations to everyone who stepped through the ropes, worked a corner, officiated, organised or supported the event. Muay Thai Grand Prix Sheffield once again delivered an excellent night of combat sports, and MMFN was proud to be there.
